Renditions: a collection of some of Rohan's favorite songs performed by himself.

You'll Never Walk Alone by Rogers and Hammersein.

This song has a great history. Written by the legendary songwriting duo of Rogers and Hammerstein, "You'll Never Walk Alone" as been performed by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Joan Baez, Judy Garland and the list goes on. But one version in particular has special meaning to me. The 60's Liverpool band Jerry and the Pacemaker's version of this song has been adopted by the Liverpool Football Club as it's official anthem, and I being a fan of Liverpool fc have recorded my own rendition of this triumphant and hopeful song.

Arnold Layne by Pink Floyd (written by Syd Barrett. Capitol/EMI records)

A song written by Syd Barrett in the early days of Pink Floyd. The lyrics depict a man (Arnold Layne) who steals clothes and, wearing the stolen garments, admires himself in the mirror, before being taken to prison for doing so. An accentric song by an accentric, yet brilliant, man. The prodution in the original is totally psychadelic, very trippy, yet seems to retain perfectly the poppiness of the chorus. This song has to be heard.

Sunday Morning by The Velvet Underground (written by Lou Reed. A&M/Polydor)

The Velvet Underground, possibly the "coolest" band ever. Definitely one of the most important. With Lou Reed as front man and characters like John Cale and the beautiful Nico involved, as well as the influence of Andy Warhol, it's easy to see why this band was so amazing. "Sunday Morning" feels like a Sunday morning, it's soft and beautiful. And there are no big surprises, no pointless face melting solo in the middle, just four minutes of bliss. A great song by a great band.

A Picture From Life's Other Side-traditional, arranged by Rohan.

This song was written over a hundred years ago and has been performed most notably by Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams, two heroes of American folk and country music. A song about hopelessness, about unthinkable scenes that happen in life with brilliant, poetic lyrics from another era. A sad, reflective but ultimately wonderful song.

S.O.S by "ABBA" (written by Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Stig Anderson. Published by EMI Groove Park Music Inc.)

A wonderful pop song, what more is there to say?

Three Steps To Heaven by "Eddie Cochran"

This song was written and recorded by Eddie Cochran shortly before his death on the 17th of April 1960. It's a beautifully nieve song, easily one of the best song ever written in my opinion. Eddie Cochran was a brilliant songwriter, producer, singer and musician with a great punk ethic before there officially was such a thing. And all this before his untimely death at the age of 21.
